Our Purpose

The Community Garden initiative is designed to support food access, promote education, and bring people together. Through the development and maintenance of garden spaces across Carlsbad, NM, we aim to increase access to fresh produce while encouraging healthy, sustainable living. We host gardening workshops and educational events to empower individuals and families with the skills and knowledge to grow their own food. This effort not only supports food security in our region but also fosters a deeper connection between our community and the land we share.

"Welcome to the Community Garden Subcommittee of the Eddy County Health Council. We’re a group of community members, organizations, and volunteers working together to promote access to healthy food, environmental education, and wellness through shared gardening spaces.

We are a collaboration of local residents, HSI Grant Services Department at Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC), and other community partners who believe in the power of growing together, literally and figuratively. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just curious about getting involved, there's a place for you here."
